Thursday Sept 22
After Wednesday is Thursday where we had History class again! Like I mentioned before DLee's class is really interesting, but I am having a problem having the information click! I am working so hard too!! I actually went up to him after class to let him know that I was having a difficult time grasping the information. Thankfully he said I wasn't the only one, and that the information is really hard. Even hard for him to teach. Now I don't feel as stupid. Everything that we talk about in that class is something I had never thought about before. I am really excited about it.
When we left class we ran into a couple of missionaries who took us to the closest post office. The post office happened to be in a mall right next to an H&M... so we had to go inside. I actually didn't end up buying anything. Everyone would be so proud of me! I have probably shopped the least out of all the girls here in our group. We decided we wanted to go to this crêperie that Kelly found, and while we were walking there we actually ran into Kelly, Morning and Ally! They were going to get falafals. We walked to the crêperie (Super cute) but it was closed! So I got one on the street. Michelle and I also bought some baklava.. we had both had better.
We had so much more shopping to do, so us seven gals went to the BHV! There were a few things I fell in love with, but they were way too expensive. I am thinking about treating myself to a really nice outfit for my birthday, I'll keep that in mind. Michelle and I went back to one other store for me to get something in my right size. We had a lot of fun talking about fashion. We both wanted to save up as much money as possible so we could buy one of those cute shirts we saw... I don't think they are worth 130€-140€ though!
We did a bit more shopping at the Pompidou. They have some amazingly cool things in the store. I wanted almost every single postcard/notebook/ and coffee table book. I'll have to go back for a few things! We then went to the art exhibit up stairs... for free, No big deal.
Here are a few photos of the art:
Doesn't this look like a Klimt painting??
"The white is just a means of exposing other elements of the painting" - The artist.
I love the Pompidou so much. I get so much inspiration. I'm so lucky to get to go for free, pretty sure I am going to go there a lot during these next 2 months.
For dinner we FINALLY got Thai food at Suan Thai! Michelle and I got a little dinner deal where we ordered an appetizer, entrée, and a side dish for a good price! We shared some Spring rolls, they were the usual... fried, BUT then you would take piece of lettuce and some mint and wrap it around the roll. Dip it in the sauce, and it was tres bon. Then we shared a green curry... I could have had the whole bowl to myself, and probably a second. The fried rice was interesting... It kinda tasted like Mexican rice, but not. Everything at Suan Thai is good, even the mint scented water.
Like every night, we were exhausted. Went back to our freezing home for the usual Skyping pals, and talked until we would fall asleep.

Their green curry is definitely on my "best things I have ever eaten" list. Divine...simply divine. I could have licked the bowl...divine.
