Friday Sept 23

No School! What is the one thing I always get excited about when I don't have school the next day?? Um... Obviously it is SLEEPING IN! Basically slept in until 11ish... Don't worry about it. Michelle slept in and then went running, she came back and laughed at me because I was still in bed. Right when I got up we sat down for breakfast. About 5 minutes later our host mom came home and saw us eating. SHE FREAKED OUT! She was like, "No! No! No! You cant eat breakfast! Its too late! You have to clean this up! Go to the kitchen! I need this table for lunch!" Yelling a million different phrases at a time. Michelle and I were so confused, but it sounded to me like she must have been having some coming over for lunch. We cleaned everything up, so we really didn't eat anything. Once we finished cleaning up and doing the dishes Michelle asked her who she had coming over for dinner. And guess what she said? "No one." She just needed the table so she could eat lunch. What? That doesn't make sense at all? Why couldn't we finish eating and then she could have used it after we cleaned up? OR!! Or, why couldn't we take everything in the kitchen to eat it? I guess I'll never understand the way this woman thinks. I honestly think she is crazy.

Once Michelle and I were ready for the day, we met up with Sam and Hailey at the Tuileries Jardins. We sat around the main fountain for about 5 hours reading books, writing post-cards and day dreaming. I got so much inspiration, just by watching people, looking towards the Louvre, and writing. It was really nice to be able to relax and take in the city. It was the first time I really realized where I was. PARIS.

Hailey wanted Indian food, so before we tried to find a good restaurant, we went to an American bookstore. We tried to look in some guide books for a good Indian restaurant, but we couldn't find anything. We decided to go around the corner to The Westin L'hotel to ask them if they could recommend a good place. The man we talked to sent us to a street near the Opera... But it was definitely not Indian. The whole street was covered in Japanese restaurants and Asian markets, which is way cool, but not Indian. Michelle, Sam and I really wanted to get some good Japanese food, but Hailey said she didn't like Asian food.

We decided to go wander around Bd Saint-Michel. Saint-Michel is an area that is covered with restaurants and Discotheques! All the restaurant owners are out on the streets calling for you to go inside. Of course everyone knew we were American. People kept calling us Lady Gaga or The Spice Girls.. Wahoo?? Michelle and I were starving, we had hardly eaten anything. One reason because we really didn't get any breakfast! Hailey was being so picky. She kept wanting to walk around for a good place that was really cheap. Finally Sam just said something to her like, Hailey... we're starving, just pick a place because we really don't care where we eat! At last she picked a place to eat. It was Thai food. I love Thai so I was fine eating it two nights in a row. But wait, didn't Hailey say she didn't like Asian food?? Je ne sais pas, we were all too hungry to care.

The restaurant was so slow to bring our food out! Of course right?? A half hour after we ordered we got our food. Once it was in front of us we stuffed it in our face! Pretty sure it took us less than 5 minutes to eat it all, we were so hungry. Michelle had a super hot pepper in her dish, I took a tiny, tiny bite and it was a killer! It was really good though.

Still hungry, we went to Amorino's for ice cream! We walked down the street to where it was, and we ran into a ton of girls from our group! They were all dressed up ready to go clubbing. They tried to talk us into going.. but that is totally not my scene. This was the first time I got the ice cream shaped like a rose, it was so cute... but it wasn't a rose for long! After we ate our ice cream, we walked down the street to get onto the metro. We looked inside a club to see the chandelier covered in Bra's! Under the chandelier was a man in very small underwear that said "Touch me" on the butt. They tried to get us to come in, along with other guys on the street, but we just laughed and walked away.

Kelly, Annie and Morning tagged along with us while we got on the metro to go see the Eiffel Tower sparkle! I was in Paris all that time, and I hadn't seen it sparkle. We took the RER, and of course like all us Americans we were really loud. We got the Eiffel Tower just in time to see it sparkle! What an amazing site. It really is magical.

Morning and I:

Annie:

Seeing the Eiffel Tower sparkle, was the end of another good day in Paris. Well that, and being able to talk to my man. Love ya Cass.
