22h30 Biarrtiz et Bayonne.

[Hope you guys are all keeping up on my blog! I'm trying super hard to keep up on posting each night!]

Today Michelle and I woke up and went to Breakfast in our pajamas. Everyone was laughing at how groggy we were, but whatever we're doing it again tomorrow. Once we were ready we got on a bus and headed towards Biarrtiz. The bus ride was so bad! I got the absolute worst stomach ache ever! I didn't want to complain, so I said a prayer to myself and hoped it went away. Like I mentioned before, I have been having trouble eating the past few days and my stomach was already hurting me every day. This one was much worse, it was more in my diafram. It felt like I had a knot in my stomach, or like someone was wringing it like a towel. Once we got to our destination I sat down outside for a bit. One of the directors and I started to talk about it a bit, but we figured it was nothing big.

Yesterday the key word was Chocolat. Today we went to a Chocolat museum! YUM. I was so excited, but my stomach ache was not making me very happy. We first started out by painting a block of dark chocolate with different colored chocolates.I had a lot of fun painting and answering all the questions the girls had about Cassidy and I. After we painted we went and watched a movie on the history of chocolate in the basque country. We had to take notes... wuphf. During all the chocolate extravaganza my stomach ache was getting worse and worse. I started to think that I might have to go to the hospital. I told Michelle and Sam, but I felt like they were getting annoyed of listening to me complain.

We took a few more photos and the chocolatier and we got to try some super rich sipping chocolate. Sadly I only took a few sips because I just wasnt feeling well. They also gave us some different chocolate samples, I held on to them as long as I could. Once I saw they were melting I hurry and ate the dark chocolate ones and ended up throwing away my melted milk and white chocolate. I bought a couple gifts for my two mothers, Joni & Janet. (just you two wait!) Then I talked to my professors about giving me a blessing, and I let them know that I didnt want anyone to know. While we were walking to the next bus stop, they pulled me aside and gave me a blessing. They didnt have any oil, so they gave me a blessing of comfort. After that I just had to wait for it to leave, I knew the blessing would help.

We waited for the bus for about 15 minutes, buying some water and post cards. Then we headed towards Bayonne. When we got to Bayonne, I was already feeling much better! SO happy about that, you have no idea. We wandered around town for a bit, got some photos and something to eat. I found a small frites place that looked fabulous! My professor was inside, so I knew it must be good. I got a petite frites and some dipping sauce. They were seriously amazing, I'm craving them right this second.

After we ate, we went to the Basque Museum... again more note taking. I kept forgetting that we were in school. We learned a lot about the basque culture, what I liked learning the most was about a game called Pelote. It kinda reminds me of racket ball, but they use their hands instead of a racket! Here is a quick video I took of a movie they had explaining what it was.

The tour guide mentioned that a lot of people from the Basque Country have moved down to Argentina, Is that true Cassidy??

Once we were all exhausted from the museum, we had about two more hours until the bus came. So we did a bit of shopping! We found a super cool sweater shop, but nothing fit me! I'm so sad. I tried on one sweater that had a fox wrapped around the shoulders, but it was way too big on me... everything was. Everyone got cool sweaters except for me. Je suis triste mais tant pis. Then we went into a cool cathedral for a long time. We lit some candles and sat on the benches to rest. It was nice to sit and chat inside an old cathedral. We decided that we just might have to ditch our own church one day and go to church at the Notre Dame or Sacre Coeur. Just for experience purposes.

Once we got on the bus to go back home to St. Jean de Luz I started to get a bit car sick, but I didn't let it get to me! I am so tired of feeling sick, so I am determined to get rid of it for good! We heard about a restaurant called Le Bar Basque that was famous for Ernist Hemingway eating there. I felt well enough to eat, so boy did I eat! I ordered some boeuf with a peppercorn and peach sauce with a side of potato gratin. Then for dessert, I had to get the Crème brûlée. It was fabulous, I'm telling ya... Europe has amazing dairy products!

I am so glad that I am not having those stupid stomach aches anymore, especially the one I had today! Dinner was amazing, I am so glad I got to enjoy it. I knew that blessing would help, and it totally did. Thank you all so much for the prayers, I have needed them, and I have honestly felt them. Merci Beaucoup!

I'll end this post with a few photo's and a map of where Bayonne and Saint Jean de Luz is! Have a great rest of the day while I have a great rest. Bonne Nuit!

Sorry about the glare. But there were vintage chocolat posters all over the wall at the museum. I found out I wasn't allowed to take pictures of them after I took this one... Oh well!!

This is a photo of Michelle.... not the vintage posters I wasn't supposed to take pictures of :)

Now to Bayonne...
