22h00 Saint Jean Pied de Port & 3 other towns.

Bonsoir!

-Today has been pretty exhausting. The morning was our usual routine. We got on a tour bus and went down to a town called Ascain, we stopped there to look at some architecture, and a Basque Pelota court. We also talked about the history of the Basque people and how they want to be their own country. Then we drove a little further to a gateau basque museum! There we made our very own gateau basques, and they were seriously amazing! (recipe and pictures are coming soon!)The chefs were way funny, and all the girls were in love with them. It was a really fun time.

Once we were finished, we went to a little town called Euzkadi that is known for the Espelette Peppers. It was cool to see the little buildings with their walls completely covered in dry peppers. We got a few drinks and some fruit from a grocery store and that was our lunch for the day.

We traveled to different towns so its hard to remember everything. Our last town we visited was Saint Jean Pied de Port. It was awesome. We went to the old part of town where there were buildings dating back to the 1500's. They had the cutest little cathedral that we sat in for a bit, then we just walked around and got tons of pictures.

Here is a petite video of the view..

When we got back to St. Jean de Luz, I got to Skype my man! I was so happy to see him again, he is seriously so handsome.. I love showing him off to the girls on the tour!! Ha, sorry Cass. It was a quick chat cause we were just about to go out to dinner. We went to an Italian restaurant, I ordered a Pizza and I may or may not have ate the whole entire thing. Im so glad I have been feeling better today. There were olives on the Pizza, and I think they may have been a tiny bit fermented... so I ate them all. Oops? Our French is slightly getting better, we all ordered our meals tonight entirely in French. I was so proud of myself.

Guess where we are going to go tomorrow!! SPAIN! I love Spain, Im super excited to go. I think everyone was planning on staying at the beach all day.. but I forgot to pack a swimsuit, darn it. I'll figure something out, but I am so excited to see what else we get to do. I don't know what to expect, so we'll both find out tomorrow! As for now I'm gonna wait for this video to upload onto my blog and then I am going to bed.

Hope you are all enjoying what I have to say! Bonne Nuit.

  3. Hi Tiff-- WOW those pictures are so gorgeous! It looks like you've stepped into one postcard after another. I am so glad you're having this marvelous experience, and so proud of your independence. What a relief that you're feeling better, too. You can't be in France and not get to gobble up all the delicious food! Looking forward to your next post... xoxo, Joni
